Chongshan Monastery in Taiyuan

It was built in the Tang Dynasty. It is said to have been a palace during the Sui Dynasty. Only part of the original (the Tang Dynasty) monastery is standing, and part of that is the Shanxi Provincial Museum. The monastery is famous for its ancient1, 000-handed, 1, 000-eyed Goddess of Mercy. It, along with the two other Bodhisattvas are eight-meter tall. The beams and ceiling are quite remarkable. During the Anti-Japanese War, a bomb went through the ceiling without exploding. It has now been repaired well.
