Yuwang Tai, 禹王台 in Chinese, is also known as the Terrace Dedicated to Yu the Great in Kaifeng, Henan Province. It was originally called "The Trumpeting Terrace, "where famed musicians of the Jin Dynasty (317-420 AD) were said to have played music. It was changed to its present name in the Ming Dynasty when a temple was built in memory of the Great Yu for his success in stemming floods. In front of the temple is an imperial archive and on one side is a temple in memory ofall who had been outstanding in taming the rivers and on the other is one dedicated to three famous poets of the Tang Dynasty-Li Bai, Du Fu and Gao Shi. On a terrace are a wealth of stone carving of ancient times. The terrace has been built into a park.
