Wanxiang Cave
Wanxiang Cave lies 12 kilometers east of Wudu County besides No. 212 National Road. The famous Bailong River runs through the foot of the cave. According to some archeologists, this cave has a history of 250 million years. On the scale, it is the largest one; on the scenery, it is the most beautiful one+ so it is-the No. One Cave in North China". But how long on earth is it? Up to now, nobody walks to the farthest end of it. There is a local legend that someone still didn't come to the exit even after seven-day and seven-night walking, but at the farthest point, the sound of women's washing sticks in Heaven Pond in Wenxian County could be heard. Why is it called "Wanxiang Cave"? The reason is that the stalactites in the cave are in various forms and shapes. The appearances of all these rocks are lifelike some of them look like hills, some look like rivers and others look like something or someone. So Wanxiang means lifelike, inclusive and all-embracing in English.
The recently-exploited scenery spots cover an area of 4. 5 square kilometers. According to the features of stalactites' patterns, this cave is divided into three great caves, which are moon palace, dragon palace and heaven palace, and nine scenery sections. In the cave, the height and width are sharply different. At the widest place, there is enough space for thousands of warriors and horses to walk forwards side by side at the narrowest place, there is a space for only one person to sprawl out.
There are more than 700 stone tablets which preserved the inscriptions and touring story records from the Northern Zhou dynasty to the Qing dynasty in the cave, so the cave has very deep and rich culture significance
