Wangjiang Lou in Chengdu

Wangjiang Lou, 望江楼 in Chineses, a pavilion for viewing the Jin River is on the south bank of the river in the eastern district of the city, Chengdu. The place is said to have been the dwelling of the well-known poet Xue Tao of the Tang Dynasty. It is now a public park. Beside the ancient buildings, there is a famous "Xue Tao Well. " There are more than 100 species of bamboos. Legend has it that Xue Tao drew water from the well to make a special kind of paper on which she copied her poems. The paper soon came into vogue under the name of "Xue Tao poet paper."
