Slender West Lake

Slender West Lake is Yangzhou's most important place of interest. The people of Yangzhou are very proud of the beauty of this lake and love to compare it to the famous West Lake in Hangzhou.

Slender West Lake is located in the northwest suburbs of Yangzhou. It is 4. 3 kilometers long and surrounded by lovely, peaceful scenes: curled-roof pavilions, the Five Pavilion Bridge, and the imposing White Dagoba, all built in north and south Chinese garden styles. At the Diaoyutai (Fishing Terrace), Qing Emperor Qian Long is supposed to have once fished. The Five Pavilion Bridge was built on the occasion of his visit. It is best seen on the night of a full moon, when 15 moons are supposed to reflect from the water under the arches, a Chinese puzzle that must be seen.
