Rongbuk Monastery

Rongbuk Monastery is the highest monastery in the world and has been rebuilt considerably in the past decade. Located in the Rongbuk Valley near the Everest Base Camp in Tibet, Rongbuk Monastery with an altitude of 5100 meters was original built in 1899 and rebuilt many times in the history.
Due to its unique location, travelers can view the stunning views of the Everest from the Rongbuk Monastery, it is very busy to get a bed in Summer time though it offers very basic facilities. The Everest Base Camp is 8 km from the Rongbuk Monastery.
In the monastery, there are Buddha status, stupas and some lamas practising here.
