New Yuanming Palace

The New Yuanming Palace is located at foot of Big Shilin Mountain on Jiuzhou Road, Zhuhai City. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides with the south side open. It occupies an area of about 1. 39 square kilometers including 80, 000 square meters of lake area. It is built to the same size as the Yuanming Palace in Beijing. It reproduces numerous old constructing styles combined with the features of modern tourist scenery. In its construction, nearly 2, 000 skillful artisans and craftsmen, literature and history experts, artists, sculptors from all over the country have worked hard to restore the palace.
The New Yuanming Palace is a rareimitation of an ancient tourism attraction. It assembles Chinese, and Western history, and tourism as a whole. Its existence adds a scene of enchanting beauty to Zhuhai City; it provides an important base for Chinese patriotism and education. It opened to the public in 1996.
