Muslim Quarter in Xian, situated near the Bell and Drum Tower, is the epicenter of the city's Muslim community, dating back to the days of the Silk Road.
With countless restaurants and shops - all run by local Hui Muslim merchants - including open-fronted halal butchers, sesame oil workshops and street vendors hawking all kinds of delicacies, the streets are vibrant and full of life.
There is a Chinese style Grand Mosque hiding in the quarter with stunning brick carving in it, it is highly recommended to visit while traveling to China.
