Mt. Lushan
Mt. Lushan is located in the northern part of Jiangci province, to the south of the Yangtze River and northwest of the Poyang Lake Overlooking southward on top of the mountain, the Poyang Lake is like a silver mirror. In the north, the Yangtze River looks like a jade ribbon blend flying to the east. The mountain consists of 99 peaks, the tallest being Dahanyang, rising to the height of 1474 meters above sea level. With the fantastic blend of mountains, sky, water and cragged cliffs, Lushan was placed on the World Heritage List in 1996. 0wing to its congenial climate, it is also a popular summer resort in China.
Mt. Lushan was among the first Key Scenic Districts of China and was one of the districts bestowed the titles like "National Geopark of Chin" and "AAAA-rated Tourism District".
The beauty of Mt. Lushan is beyond all praise. You never know the real feature of the mountain before you stand on its top. You will find imposing peaks, magnificent waterfalls, weird caves, beautiful lakes, sheer precipice and eve-changing clouds. Writings about the mountain are numerous, as poets and writers of various times have been inspired to praise the mortmain's beauty and charm.
The flora in Lushan is diverse and includes about 3, 000 species. There are millions of migratory birds in the Poyang Lake area. The immense flocks of cranes dancing over the lake's water make it a world wonder.
Lushan abounds in historic and cultural relics. Bailudong Shuyuan (Waite Deer Cave Academy) was the most famous of the fow biggest academies in ancient Chin and enjoys high prestige in the history of Chinese education. The Donglin Temple (East Grove Temple), built by eminent monks in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, was the birthplace of the Jingtu (Pure Earth) Sect of Buddhism. More than 1, 500 noted figures in history visited this mountain, leaving behind some 4000 pieces of verse and over 900 inscriptions on the cliffs, as well as other writings, prints and calligraphic works.
The villa are quiet sight on Lushan. There are about 600 villas here, with the styles of 18 nations and cultures. Each villa is an individual building complex with unique style and structure, including styles of Rome and Gothic churches, Japanese buildings and Islamic Mosques. The architects tended to build the villas in shady places, and pursued a natural and casual style, ensuring that they are well integrated with the natural scenery. The modem villas on Lushan are mostly one or two stories high. While they have been built in clusters, they are not densely packed together and are surrounded by trees, malting them pleasing to the eye. The villa complex is simple and natural in style. You could hardly find two villas that resemble each other.
