Kanas Lake

Situated in the Altai Mountains on the north of Xinjjiang Province, China, Kanas is a well-known high-mountain lake with altitude of 1374 meters. Kanas is from Mongolian language, meaning of Beautiful and mystery area. Kanas is part of Kanas River which starts from Friendship Summit that is located between China ans Mogolia. The lakes is well-known for the different landscape during different seasons, particularly for the Autumn when the tree leaves changed its color to yellow, the entire area become the paradise. The native people in Kanas are Tuwa that is branch of Mongols, still keep their traditional life living in the wooden huts, hunting, fishing etc. There are severy villageis in Kanas area including Baihaba Village, Hemu Village, and Knasi Village, each of them is getting popular for its spectacular scenary. It is about 700km from the provincial capital city Urumqi to Kanasi, you can drive, take train, and flight to get there.
