Mt. Jinyun

Jinyun Shan(Mt. Jinyun), or 缙云山 in Chinese, has nine peaks where more than 1, 700 kinds of sub-tropical plants grow. Located in the Beibei District, Chongqing, it is eight kilometers from the Northern Hot Springs. The highest peak, Yujian (Jade Point) Peak, is 1, 030meters above sea level. Here the scenery is most beautiful with ancient tall trees thrusting into the sky, clusters of bamboo groves and many rare trees. Standing on the 980-meter-high Shizi(Lion) Peak, one can have a good view of the Jialing River and the Town of Beibei. The Jinyun Temple dates from1, 500 years ago with many historical sites such as an ancient village gate, a stone memorial archway and the Luoyang Bridge.
