Golden Temple in Kunming

Jin Dian, the Golden Temple, is located on Mingfeng Hill (SingingPhoenix Hill) in the suburbs of the city 11 kilometers north of the city proper in Kunming.The temple is known for its Golden Hall which was first built in 1602 in the Ming Dynasty and later was moved to the Jizu Hill (Chicken Leg Hill) in DaliCounty. The present Golden Hall was rebuilt in 1671 during the Qing Dynasty.The Golden Hall as well as the furniture in the hall and the Seven-Star Flag beside the hall are al made of bronze. The hall itself weighing more than 200tons is 6. 5 meters high. Its base and balusters are all made of marble.
