Daguan Lou in Kunming
Formerly known as the Guanyin Temple in Kunming, Daguan Lou 大观楼 in Chinese, or the Pavilion of Broad View, it was built in 1682 during the Qing Dynasty. Facing Dianchi, the pavilion is seven kilometers to the west of the city. On this pavilion there are a pair of long scrolls, known as the "longest scrolls in the world," on which180 Chinese characters were written by Sun Ranweng, a famous poet and calligrapher of the Qing Dynasty. On every Mid-Autumn Festival (15th day of the 8th lunar month), or the MoonFestival in China, people of different ethnic groups in the city come to Daguanlou Park to enjoy the full moon.
