Seat for 24 emperors for Ming and Qing Dynasties from 1420 to 1911, the Forbidden City in Beijing is the biggest and best preserved wooden palace in the world with the area over 720,000 sqm and over 9000 rooms. The Palace constructed with wood, marble, and jade that constituted the treasure of Chinese architecture. 1 million of relics and art work are housed in the Palace museum. It was inscribed as World Heritage BY UNESCO in 1987.
In 2004, The Imperial Palace of the Qing Dynasty in Shenyang was added by UNESCO to the auxiliary to the Imperial Palace in Beijing.
