Ancient Building Complex in the Wudang Mountains

In 1994, Ancient Building Complex in the Wudang Mountains was inscribed on the list of World Heritage by UNESCO.
Located in Hubei Province, China, the Complex are well-preserved treasure for Chinese architecture and traditional art for Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. The history of buildings can be traced back to 7th Century, and lasted about 1000 years. Gradualy it became the high standard for Chinese architecture.
Daoism, a traditional Chinese religion, has always been the pilgrimaged place for the believers as it is the seat for the famous Taoist Zhang Sanfeng who had been stayed in the palace here and taught Wudang Kungfu to his disciples. Hence it is also very popular for Wudang Kungfu that equals Shaolin Kungfu in Henan Province.
While travel to China, Wudang is a wonderful mountain to enjoy both the stunning mountain view and numerous wooden building with elegant carvings.
