Zhangzhou

Zhangzhou, 漳州 in Chinese, is one of the important cities in Fujian Province. Textual research illustrates that ancient people began to settle in the land of Zhangzhou as early as 10, 000 years ago. Later in 686AD, that is, in the second year of Chuigong in the Tang Dynasty, Zhangzhou prefecture was established near the Zhang River, whose offtcial name was later adopted as "Zhangzhou"Zhangzhou became an important trade port in the Ming Dynasty due to its favorable geographical location.
