Zhuhai

Located in the southern part of Guangdong Province, Zhuhai is a well known coastal city with garden-like scenery. There are links to Hong Kong by water in the east and it borders on Macao in the south. It is one of the earliest Special Economic Zones in China with local legislative rights endowed by the National People's Congress. It has an area of 7, 650square kilometers and a population of1. 23 million.
The terrain of Zhuhai slopes gently from west to southeast, highlighted by mountains, sea, sandy beaches, alluvial plains, and lakes. The seacoast wanders for 690 kilometers, with 146islands or islets totaling 237 square kilometers. They give Zhuhai the title of "One Hundred Islands City."
Zhuhai City was founded in 1979. It was set up as a Special Economic Zone(SEZ) in 1980 and it belongs to the first group of SEZ cities in China. The economy of Zhuhai has been increasing consistently over 20 years at an accelerated rate, and urban construction and infrastructure have been constantly upgraded and perfected. An integrated foreign economic model has been developed in Zhuhai.
