Quanzhou

Quanzhou, 泉州 in Chinese, is known as the largest port in Asia during the Song (960-1279 AD) and Yuan dynasties (1271-1368AD). Quanzhou city, located on southeast Fujian, is one of the four ancient capitals in Fujian. Its political and economic prosperity made it the administrative center of the province in the Yuan Dynasty. As the starting point of maritime silk road and once nicknamed "the Alexandria Port of the East", Quanzhou city is hlled with many tangible and intangible cultural relics.
