The 1911 Revolution 辛亥革命

The 1911 Revolution, 辛亥革命 in Chinese, is a military uprising at Wuchang on October 10, 1911, which ended two thousand years of imperial rule in China. On December 29, 1911 at Nanjing, Dr. Sun Yat-sen (孙中山), Chinese revolutionary leader and statesman, the founder of the Kuomintang (国民党), who was posthumously given the title Father of China (国父) in the 1930s, was elected first provisional president of the Republic of China (中华民国).
