RMB 100-yuan note

In the fifth set of RMB banknotes, the red 100-yuan note is the most jubilant. Chinese people love red. This note is given this color also because it is of the highest value among al banknotes. Each set of banknotes is an epitome of its time. The face value, color, patterns and other elements not only show the country's economic condition, but also the aesthetic preferences of the time. The first set of RMB was issued in 1948 before the People's Republic of China was founded. There are many printed versions of different technical levels. It reflects how the country was just recovering from decades of war. The second set of RMB issued in 1962 features automobile, plane, ship, tractor, train and hydro power station, providing glimpses of busy reconstruction throughout the nation. The third set issued soon afterwards added more scenes showing farmers and workers.
The color and frame are more harmonious. The fourth set of RMB issued in 1984 was a fundamental Improvement. The newly added 50-yuan and 100-yuan notes directly show the advances of Chinese economy. The 100-yuan note shows national founders Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi and Zhu De. The 50-yuan note shows three figures representing workers, farmers and intellectuals. The other notes show 14 ethnic minorities. All figures are realistic portraits. The fifth set of RMB issued in 1999 is more internationalized. The portrait of Chairman Mao Zedong became the uniform pattern on the front side of all banknotes. People love this smiling face, not only out of respect for the founder of New China, but also due to a common love and pursuit of better life.
