Mountains in China

China is an ideal state that has many famous mountains for the world outdoor enthusiasts who like mountain climbing to take active tours here, including Himalayas and Everest in Tibet, K2 and Muztag on the ancient Silk Road in Xinjiang Province are all world-famous mountains.
Traditionally there are Three Mountains, and Five Yues (5 Great Mountains in English), let's see what these are.

Three Mountains:
Mt Huangshan, Mt Lushan, Mt Yandang

Five Yues
Mt Taishan, Mt Huashan, Mt Hengshan, Mt Songshan, Mt Hengshan

Mt. Huangshan, situated in Anhui Province, it had been well-known for its stones, strange pines, and clouds since ancient times. The saying goes that “You will not want to see other mountains after visiting Mt Huangshan”. You can take cable car up and down, and accommodate in the mountain hotels so that you can view the the sunrise next day.

Mt Lushan, located in Jiangxi Province, is famous for its imposing, odd, dangerous, good-looking landscape. It is particularly cool in summer so that there are many travellers gong here to escape the heat.

Mt Yandang is located in Zhejiang Province mainly. The night view on the Lingfeng spot that is one of the three sites on the mountains is a must-see in China. There are dense reeds, grass growing well around the lake on the top of the mountain, the wild geese assembled here since ancient times, hence the mountain is named Yandang in Chinese, that means Wild Goose Swinging

Dongyue Mt Taishan(Eastern Mountain in English) is situated in Shandong Province in China. Since ancient times, it had been the famous pilgrimage mountain for Emperor to show their esteem to the heaven. There are ancient temple buildings that are well-known as well on the mountain.

Xiyue Mt Huashan(Western Mountain in English) is located in Shaanxi Province. The mountain was too steep, there was only one mountain trail that was not built until the Tang Dynasty

Nanyue Mt Hengshan(Southern Mountain in English) is located in Hunan Province. There are plenty of green woods on the mountains, so it is famous for its green scenery in China. There are Taoist and Buddhist temples to construct a well-known unique cultural landscape.

Beiyue Mt Hengshan(Northern Mountain in English, it sounds the same as above mountain, but written names differ in Chinese), located in Shanxi Province, had always been recognized as strategy mountains in the ancient times. The famous Hanging monastery is on the mountain, which integrated Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism in the temple.

Zhongyue Mt Songshan(Middle Mountain in English), situated in Henan province, is the seat for the traditional Chinese culture for its long history, where the Shaolin Temple is the birthplace of Shaolin martial arts at home and abroad. Moreover, the mountain is a paradise for the hikers to trek around.

Last but not the least, there are many famous peaks besides, such as Mount Wuyi in Fujian Province, Emei and Qingcheng Mountain in Sichuan Province, Mt Qilian in Gansu province etc., all are wonderful places for tourists to visit and hike while travel to China.
