Grasslands in China
Among all the grasslands in China, the Hulunbeier grassland is the largest one best preserved. Boasting a large area, many beautiful scenic sights and lush pasture, it is crisscrossed by over 3, 000 intertwining rivers and more than 500 lakes. The Hulunbeier grassland unfolds like the scroll of a splendid picture, extending its way to the verdant Greater Khingan Range. Over 30 nationalities live in harmony on the grassland, with Mongolian nationality being the dominant one. The name "Hulunbeier" came from the two large rivers, Hulun and Beier.
Free of pollution, Hulunbeier is a green and pure land. The local meat, milk, fur and pasture are favored by people from all over the world. Blessed with an abundance of distinctive national features and valuable cultural relics and historic sites, Hulunbeier grassland is an attractive place to visitors home and abroad. The beauty of Hulunbeier grassland is also depicted in the beautiful line of the previous Vice Chairman Zhude when inspecting the grassland :"The carpet of green grass extends a thousand miles."
