Guan Yu

Guan Yu was a general of the Three Kingdomsperiod (220-280). He was known for bravery, combat skills and a sense of obligationwhen he served as a military Guan Yu by conferring great titles on him.
The Emperor Shenzong of the Ming Dynasty, whowas a Taoism believer, canonized him as "Great Defender againstDemons" and "Grand Emperor."The emperor even adopted him as WuSheng (God of War), thus leaving him the same reputation as the Super GreatSaint Confucius (Wen Sheng). At present, a lot of Guan Di Temples have been reservedfor people to show reverence for Guan Yu.
