At 9.30am, your guide will pick you up from your centrally located Guangzhou hotel, then take taxi or metro to start the day tour. You will visit the Museum of the Tomb of the Nanyue King of the Western Han Period, where you will learn the history of Guangzhou back to 2,200 years ago.
Afterwards, you will climb up Yuexiu Park to view the token of the city, 5 Rams Sculpture that was erected in Yuexiu park in 1959 to describe the legend. You will also view a section of the Old City Wall of Guangzhou in the park, which was built in Ming Dynasty about 600 years ago.
Then, you will move to Academy of Chen Clan, or The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, which is an academic temple built in 1894 during later Qing Dynasty. Academy of Chen Clan is a complex with traditional Canton architecture style. Now it is a folk art museum to display wooden carving, stone carving, brick carving, pottery, plaster and iron engraving etc. which are nice to view with your local guide.
Later, you will take metro to Shamian Island and wander around the former colony for British and French for 100 years ago, where there are well-preserved old European architectural houses, and you can see local people taking wedding pictures here. Afterwards you will walk to the dock to take a public boat from here to Canton Tower on the Pearl River to view the moving pictures along the river including buildings, parks, islands and bridges on the boat. The impressive Canton tower is 600 meters in height, and If you are interested, you could buy a ticket to overlook the city at your own expense.
Your lunch is included for the delicious Cantonese Dim Sum. Your wonderful day tour concludes at the Canton tower where you can take taxi or metro back to your hotel.
